Pharmacy Technician Program

This is one of the fastest growing careers in the medical community. Pharmacy Technicians are needed in both retail and hospital pharmacies.

Students learn theory and skills from classroom lectures, laboratory practice, and hands-on practical experience at Eton's pharmacy lab. Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician Program are trained in all aspects of pharmacy technology as it applies to prescription processing and are qualified for prescription and medication preparation.

Listed below are some of the areas included in Eton's Pharmacy Technician program:
  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Brand Generic Drugs Classifications
  • Certification
  • Retail Pharmacy Services
  • Basic Chemistry
  • Basic Pharmacology
  • Material Management
  • State and Federal Law
  • Intravenous Admixtures
  • Unit-Dose

Eton's Pharmacy Technician program includes (6) six-week modules, including the core module, plus a retail externship and a hospital externship.

Completing an externship is required and an important part of the Pharmacy Technician program. This provides the students with a valuable opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real pharmacy settings, both retail and hospital.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are assisted in applying for certification with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.

Financial Assistance

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Students can apply for scholarships, which are awarded based on merit and motivation, through an application process.
